whoa...

our store was robbed today. yes. it happened when i was taking my break at around 5pm, so i didn't really get to witness anything. christine and gosia didn't see either because there were tons of people asking them questions, probably one of the tactics those robbers used. at least $1700 said goodbye to our little tiny store. we discovered it much later when the group of thieves left the store. goodbye to the sparkly cashmere mist and black cashmere, the DKNY perfume, the Tommy T and Tommy Girl perfume, etc. shelves were left half emptied. no wonder there were tons of people in the store when i came back from my break. we all thought it was just ones of those spurs of the day, but no. sigh. we called suzanna, and then the police in the commons... it was bad and very sad, too. It is absolutely pathetic and depressing that people would do things like this. what made them go into this kind of "career"? just like gosia said, "for what reason am I working for if i can just take the perfumes without paying?" it is depressing... don't those people have a set of moral standards? don't they know that it is wrong to steal? i am sure they do...but under what kind of circumstances would they have to do that? maybe they are desperate for money, but there are so many people who are desperate yet they don't do such thing! sigh... i don't know. i really don't know. it makes me really mad and really sad.

anyway...i am going to read oliver twist now.
